November 11th is Remembrance Day / Armistice Day, when we remember not only the fall service men and women of World War 1, but all service men and women who have fallen in war all around the world.
Each year for November 11th The Royal British Legion exchange poppies for a small donation, this money goes towards helping the British serving service men and women and their families who have been affected by the tragedies of war.
Whilst you are visiting the CCB over the next two weeks, why not donate a small amount of money to The Royal British Legion and so your support by wearing the Poppy.

The Teen Club is back, the CCB is continuing it’s teen club. This year it will be on a Wednesday at 15h30 with Jeremy. There is a free trial session on Wednesday the 7th of October for all those interested in fun and games in English.

“So, you think you can’t draw”
The CCB is holding a free demonstration evening on Thursday 8 October at 18h30 to introduce our new course “Art in English”.
The 15 week course is provided by Paula Norman, a native English art and language teacher who has taught in Lille for over 15 years, and will include instruction in drawing, painting in acrylic, watercolour pastel and lino techniques.
The classes are open to French and English speaking residents of any age.
The CCB course will provide a friendly and affordable opportunity for small groups of pupils, who will be encouraged to realize their full potential.

TESOL Lille are holding their first event of the new school year on Saturday and they would like to invite all English language teachers in the Lille area to join them.
The guest speaker at this event will be Annie McDonald who is on a speaker tour of all TESOL France’s regional branches, Lille is her first stop.
Annie has worked in ELT for 25+ years, in the domains of EFL/ESP in Turkey, Brazil, Spain and England, teaching secondary / university students. She holds an MSc in Teaching English from Aston University and is a former president of TESOL-Spain. Writing-wise she has co-authored a 4 level general course, English Result and an Authentic Listening Resource Pack. She is currently teaching, writing, giving teacher-training courses and maturing back in north-west England.
The workshop will start at 14h30 on Saturday 12th of September.
The Event will be held at EDHEC business school in the VIP Auditorium which is just behind the reception desk.
